Bishop Oyedepo Tells Muslims To Build Their Own Schools –

One of the foremost Pentecostal pastors in Nigeria has added his voice to the saga going on in Kwara state over Muslim desiring to wear Hijab in some christian school which led the state government to close 10 of such schools in the state. A lot of protest has gone on over this with many christian seeing the development as an utter provocation by their Muslim counterpart.

Founder of Living Faith Church aka Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, has advised Muslims to leave Kwara schools for their various owners.

He said they should look for hijab-wearing schools their children can attend.

The Nation had reported that the Kwara State Government shut 10 schools down in February over the crisis on the wearing of Hijab (Islamic headscarf) by Muslim female students.

But according to reports, the schools resumed on Monday.

Last week, students and teachers entered the school with violent resistance, especially at Baptist Secondary School, Surulere and Cherubim and Seraphim College, Sabo-Oke in Ilorin where Christians and Muslims clashed.

Speaking on the situation in a viral video got by The Nation, Oyedepo said: “It is such a nasty development in Kwara state where Muslims are asking their students in our schools to wear Hijab, and the church said “no”

“I have never seen a place in my life where a tenant will decree for the landlord… you know the reason? We have never shown the world the other side of God.

“God is not a toy. Our God is a consuming fire, let us show them the consuming fire of God, they need to know.

“Leave the schools for the owners, go to your schools, is there any fight? Stop putting fingers in the eyes of others.

“The church is a time-bomb when God turns his back on anybody or any system, that system is grounded.”

“My advice is, leave the schools for the owners, find your schools… men and women can wear hijab there.. Stop putting your fingers in the eyes of others when they are not blind. The bishop has never been one to shy away from expressing his opinion over national and religious issue in Nigeria. He is also the president of Covenant University, one of the leading private University in Nigeria.
