Missing it where it matters

Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Pray God not to develop cold feet when the victory is at hand. There is a proverb my father used to tell us. About a goat who desired to leak up a pitch of snuff, but in the process blew the stuff away with breath from his nostril. In psalms78:9 we read a pathetic story that was to change the course of event and alter the history of the tribe of Ephraim. Let us read it here together, Psalms 78:9 The children of Ephraim, being armed, and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle. From the onset this was one tribe favored of God see Genesis 48:14-19, And Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Ephraim’s head, who was the younger, and his left hand upon Manasseh’s head, guiding his hands wittingly; for Manasseh was the firstborn. And he blessed Joseph, and said, God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the God which fed me all my life long unto this day, The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth. And when Joseph saw his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he held up his father’s hand, to remove it from Ephraim’s head unto Manasseh’s head. And Joseph said unto his father, Not so, my father: for this is the firstborn; put thy right hand upon his head. And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations.. but like many who abuse privileges, they took this grace for granted. When the ‘grace’ is thus taken for granted, we suffer the consequences. As the grace that came through Jesus our lord and savior remains, let us not forget that it came with a message to ‘flee from ungodliness’. God, the righteous one, will not compromise in order to please us, but we should walk as befits holy and sanctified people. In psalm89 v 33 to 38, the doom finally came, and another tribe stepped into their shoes. In the new testament this warrior tribe had became reduce to the wilderness. John 11:54 Jesus therefore walked no more openly among the Jews; but went thence unto a country near to the wilderness, into a city called Ephraim, and there continued with his disciples.

Stop toying with your salvation, hold it close to your chest and flee all appearance of evil, for the grace we receive do not thrive, grow if we wallow in iniquity. For the grace came with a message…. many do exclude that message ‘Titus 2:11-12 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

I leave you with these reassuring words: Romans 16:20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
