THE LESSON TO BEWARE

Luke 12:15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

It is the in-thing in today’s world- the flaunting of success, the showcase of the flotilla of aircrafts, the display of the fleet of cars and the exquisite picture of an enormous mansion . The display of these or the possession of these will get you noticed not just in your country, but all over the world; sadly, those that will help you promote these items are the leaders of tomorrow, the youth. How you gain your possession does not matter or questioned by the society, but that you own them is enough for them. A man was so good in fraud not so long ago, that he drew 2.3million followers to his social media platform page. Despite that, his source of wealth was questionable that did not stop the youth. Even some respectable politician who had taken pictures with him quickly deleted all when the bubble bursted. He is cooling his feet in America, awaiting his trial for defrauding to the tune of 40 million dollars. Hoe many of those who preach morals, advocate good leadership and responsible citizenry can boast of 200 hundred followers?

Talk about the saving grace of Jesus you will hardly get a like on your wall, but display your wipe, a dodge demon or hell cat, bursting 707hp you sure will get noticed and go viral. What is your source? don matter no more! With such a possession, you will have friends and more boys and girls will swoon round you and you will have your pick any day. All these sad spectacle happens today because of misplaced priorities in our youth. Your net worth attract attention in social media. You hear the worth of mister A and it will get million clicks in two days. Post on your wall how to persevere in the face of difficulty, no one will notice it. Persevere? Not on your life! It is a world of avarice and get it all while still in your twenties.

Another trap of today is the insatiable hunger in our eye- the lust of the eyes. Our eyes longed to behold the lustful and half-clad women displaying without shame their respectable womanhood for all to see. Their clothes must be see- through and very suggestive, must be able to make you think of lust and other dirty thoughts. The fashion designers of today are there to promote and bring out the lust and depravity in our Adamic nature. Where decency in appearance is throw out the window and curves and shapes is the name of the game. Post your nudity online, you get instant fame, and be seen all over the world.

Yet, the bible knows that in the last days these things will increase and had shown us the way out of such grip:

Psalms 119:9 BETH. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto according to thy word. Today, the mounting problem confronting our youth has a solution in the world of God; if only we surrender to him. The spirit of God in our life, if we allow him, gives us the power to overcome these lusts Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. What we see, what we hear and what we feel they engineer all to take us out of the way of God, but you will overcome by the provision of God. Read Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

By the power of the most high God, you are free from the spirit that reigns today; we set you free by the Sprit of God . In Jesús name, Amen.
